🎉🎉WE’VE LAUNCHED IN Sainsbury's 🎉🎉 When we launched our food product range, our message was clear - gut health CANNOT be hidden in the back of health food stores, it has to be for everyone and more importantly at a price point for everyone. We asked ourselves: can we take gut health out of dairy and cereal as this has been played in before and bring it front of store, in other parts of store, onto the high street, into universities and where people will least expect us. We’re partnering with Sainsburys to pop up in a new place in store to RAISE THE BAR in healthy snacking. Our little fibreworks are breaking the mould and running away from the cereal bar aisles to their very own place in store. They’ll be nestled in “wellness” - showing how snacking really CAN be good for you. This move sends a strong message in functional foods and we’re happy to lead the charge…. **New research** by The Food Foundation into multi-buy retail offers, covered in Foodservice Footprint. 🍫Almost 1/3 volume offers are on junk food, compared to 4% on fruit & veg and 3% on starchy carbs. 🛒Retailers with volume offers = Asda, Morrisons, Tesco. Sainsbury's and Aldi run price offers instead. 👏Sainsbury's have already phased out volume offers, and Tesco have committed to do the same. 🙄This comes in the wake of govt rolling back on their commitments to regulate multi-buy / volume based promotions - going against their own evidence which shows that these promotions drive consumers to spend 20% more than planned. How does this make sense when a) we're in a cost of living crisis and b) there's an urgent need to align the national diet with Eatwell (and beyond), from a health and environmental perspective? Retailers, supported by strong and sensible government policy, must align promotions with the diet that's good for people, pockets and planet. Without the right incentives we just won't get there. #retail #foodpolicy #promotions #bogof #healthydiets #sustainablediets #research #publichealth #costofliving #costoflivingcrisis

Interesting to see that the trend toward all-day snacking has yet to slow down. "What may have started with pre-pandemic on-the-go lifestyles has continued in the wake of an unconventional decade, with data bearing out Americans’ penchant for snacking." “All generations are snacking three-plus snacks a day, just at varying levels,” noted Sally Lyons Wyatt, EVP of client insights at Chicago-based Circana, during a recent webinar with SNAC International.
