This is very important as antibiotics can disrupt the gut microbiome, and that damage is linked to infections, antibiotic resistance and metabolic disease. Florey’s unique mode of action degrades the antibiotics in the gut, while the drug keeps working in the body.
Founded in 2024 by scientists from Harvard and the Wyss Institute, the company is developing its products as a medical foods.
