Brian Halweil

Brian joined Astanor in 2021 as a Strategic Associate. Prior to working at Astanor, Brian was a Portfolio Manager at Almanac Insights where his work focused primarily on food and agriculture technology. Before this, he sourced and researched food and agriculture companies for TPG’s Rise Fund. He is the founding editor and co-owner of several Edible publications in New York City, on Long Island and in Memphis. His writing has focused on organic farming, biotechnology, hunger, and rural communities. He is the author of Eat Here: Homegrown Pleasures in a Global Supermarket. He lives in Sag Harbor, New York, where he and his family keep a home garden and raise oysters.
